From 23 July to 27 August, The Commandery hosts Buccaneer Bootcamp every Wednesday with two sessions daily (10:30am–12:00pm and 1:30pm–3:00pm). Kids can enjoy pirate-themed activities like swabbing the deck, walking the plank, climbing rigging, learning pirate talk, loading a cannon, and making their own parrot companion to take home. Each session ends with a drink, biscuit, and story. The Commandery is open 10am–4pm on Wednesdays, allowing time to explore the historic building and gardens before or after bootcamp. 

Tickets are £5 per child plus general admission, which can be booked online or purchased on-site. Carers accompanying visitors with access needs receive free admission with prior booking.
